Introduction to SSB

Some fine day the interviewing officer may ask you anything, which you never have thought of in your weirdest dreams. So the fund is “KNOW EVERYTHING YOU CAN”.  Try to think of anything and if you don’t know its answer you need to find it out, I will try and answer most of those questions here. Hope you never feel troubled because we have all the experience and knowledge to guide you through.  

An Introduction to SSB-

1.     Indian armed forces have three defense services called Indian Navy, Indian Army and Indian Air force. Through SSB can enter these prestigious services and lead a fulfilling life.

2.     SSB stands for Service selection board and one can appear in it through multiple exams namely NDA (National defense academy) exam, UPSC (Union Public Service Commission), UES (University entry scheme), AFCAT (Air Force Common Aptitude test), SSC, TES, GES, NCC Special Entry Scheme, Women Entry Scheme etc.

3.     Origin of SSB type of testing came into existence during First World War era. In the First World War, large numbers of casualties on battlefields necessitated recruitment of best fighting talent in armed forces. Germans were the first to find out the need for such technique and latter English authorities also implemented them into their forces.

4.     The psychologists designed some scientific tests which assesses candidate's Officer Like Qualities (OLQs). Over the years SSB testing has been improved based on feedback and has been proved to be an effective and accurate way of selecting candidates who are capable of being at least an average officer after training, although SSB is the world's TOUGHEST army test.
